[Ever since the “classified” door’s been opened, Vyse has been thinking more and more about the ‘threats’ in Luceti and how they’ve changed over the years. Who’s the bad guy here? Are there even still any real bad guys left? Aside from that Zompano guy anyway, he definitely sounds like bad news.

He knows he can’t openly discuss the classified information on the journals, but he doesn’t need to. He can simply address a matter that’s been going on for a while now. Ever since he returned to Luceti. He’d already discussed it with Daisy, but he felt like the answers he got weren’t enough. There’s no way to get enough of an answer from just one resident. He needs to talk to Luceti as a whole about this.

Or as is the case right now, he needs to write to Luceti. His entry appears in neat, cursive handwriting.]

About five years ago, going by the local calendar, I started a defensive group here known as the Blue Rogues. It was an initiative based on a faction- [An abrupt little pen stripe follows the sentence, then Vyse tries again.] No, a way of life from my own home. Luceti was a different place back then. Everyone was hellbent on taking out the Malnosso, because we were sure they were the ones who’d brought us to this world. We all wanted to break through the barrier and beat the snot out of those jerks for experimenting on us. Nobody could sit still and because of that, some of the residents took their frustration out on others.

The Blue Rogues kicked a few butts here and there, set out to explore the desert back when the path there first opened and we did a couple of other odd jobs. We needed to watch over each other closely back then, but Luceti’s changed.

The Malnosso aren’t as horrible as they used to be, but drafts and missions are sending people who can’t defend themselves to places where we can’t follow them. There’s no point in watching the other residents too closely because everyone seems to have calmed down for the most part. We used to have a whole list of malicious people to look out for, but now there’s very little of those. When something does happen, everyone still seems to band together without too much trouble.

So here’s my question to you. What do you think the Blue Rogues should be doing? Our group was created for everyone, so that’s why I think everyone should get a chance to speak their mind.

Should we keep recruiting just in case a sudden emergency happens? Should we be training people to fight? There’s already a few people doing that, I think, but maybe there’s room for a few more teachers. Are there other jobs we could be doing? Or should we just disband the group and believe that whenever Luceti’s threatened, the residents will all come together anyway?

I want to hear all your thoughts and suggestions, so don’t be shy.

[When Vyse awoke, he felt groggy and sore. His brain seemed to be struggling to put itself in order and get some coherency out of the current jumbled mess. His eyes fluttered open and he raised a hand to his forehead, uttering a pained groan. He was surrounded by trees and he was cold. Real cold. Where was his shirt? Why did he fall asleep in a forest without it? …No, hang on, he didn’t fall asleep in a forest. He distinctly remembered going to bed the night before. His bed in Crescent Isle. Yet, there were other memories. Indistinct blurs he couldn’t quite grasp because the more he tried, the more details escaped him. It was like trying to remember a dream after waking.

Just when he thought it was a lost cause, the wings jogged his memories along. He spotted them from the corner of his eye as he sat up, and when he did, he remembered. One realization dawned on him, then another and another... He couldn't help but cringe at the headache the small cascade of memories was causing. He still couldn't remember everything, but the important details were there. Where he was, how he'd gotten here, what it all meant...

He glanced around to see if he could find a small journal- The journal he'd need to get answers to his remaining questions. That's when he spotted the familiar Huskra that was sitting a short distance away. Vyse realized it'd probably been watching over him while he was unconscious and smiled. Good old Pow. He beckoned it over and removed the small, leatherbound journal from its mouth. He'd try and find the New Feather guide first, then make his announcement.]

[The camera flicks on to show a boy with messy chestnut hair and a scar under his left eye. The absence of his shirt might hint at the fact that he’s still wearing New Feather attire and he looks a little worse for wear, but despite all that, he’s grinning.]

Uh… Hey guys. Vyse here. I just got here and… I’m back, I guess! [A soft, somewhat strained chuckle.]

Everything’s a little loopy, but it looks like I missed a couple years while I was gone. This is year six, right? [A moment of silence, then he runs a hand through his hair.] …I can’t even remember when I left. Year three, maybe. If anyone who knows me is still around, get back to me, alright?

To everyone who doesn’t know me, it’s good to meet you. The name’s Vyse. Vyse of the Blue Rogues.

[Action]

[A few hours later, after stopping by the stores to gather up all his clothes and belongings, Vyse can be found taking a stroll through the village. Pow the Huskra is walking along beside him, its tail wagging in a cheerful manner. There's a sense of wonder in Vyse's eyes as he explores the streets and watches the other people. It's like discovering Luceti all over again.]
